Overview Muhammad is probably the most succesful Arabian there was. He was a prophet to the god Allah. He was born in Mecca in 570 AD and saw a angel come to him and tell him he was the next prophet. He took the advice and started telling everyone about it, the first convert was his first wife Khadija. Islam speaks that Allah is the one and only god he is all prowerful who created universe and sustains the universe.
In Islam there is Five pillars, or five rules, to follow. A few of them i will tell you about one of them is to pray 5 times a day facing Mecca, the islma holy city. Another Pillar is to give the needy money, so if you see a homeless man you should always give them some money so they can get back onto their feet. There is also one that wants you to make a Pilgramige to Mecca. It states that a person should visit the Kaba once in their lifetime. The Geographic features of thee Arabian Peninsula is pretty simple. The Arabian Peninsula is now made up of the Modern Country Saudi Arabia, along with some smaller countries. The Holy City Mecca is in Saudi Arabia and very close to the Red Sea. Just North of Mecca is Medina the second holiest city in islam. The Islam empire extended all the way to now a day Spain and into Persia.

Vizier: A prime minister of a council, the vizier advised the caliph. The vizier often times made more decisions than the actual caliph.
Mosques: Muslim houses of worship that all Muslims went to worship their gods. Mosques were like Christian churches today.
Bazaar: A covered market which had many goods from many different regions. Even the bazaars would established rules for food preparation and selling.
Dowry: A gift of money or property to their brides, this dowry prevented most men from having more than one wife because often times the dowry was very expensive.
Astrolabe: An instrument perfected by the Muslims, it was used by sailors to determine their location by observing the positions of stars and planets. This astrolabe made it possible for Europeans to sail to the Americas.

Ibn-Rushd: A philosopher who lived in Cordoba and wrote a commentary on virtually all of Aristotle's surviving works. He was known for being a very wise person.
Ibn-Khaldun: One of the most prominent Muslim historian of the age. He devoted his time in the study and writing of history. One of his most famous works were the Muqaddimah or Introduction to History.
Hussein: second son of Ali. Was the leader of revolt that took place in present day Iraq. Hussein encouraged his followers to rise up against Umayyad rule in 680.
Harun al-Rashid: His reign is often described as the golden age of the Abbasid caliphate. He was known for his charity, and he also lavished support on artists and writers.
Muhammad: He came to believe that Allah had already revealed himself in part through Moses and Jesus and thus through the Hebrew and Christian traditions.
